Are you looking for ways to reduce your carbon footprint and save money on energy costs?

Many hotel and hostel owners are, but it can be challenging. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution: take a cue from this case study of one successful hostel that made significant progress in cutting back its energy spends without compromising their guests’ comfort.

In this blog post we'll look at the innovative steps they took as well as practical tips for how you too can reduce both your bottom line and the impact on our planet.

So let's get down to business - read on if you want to learn more about how sustainable practices can keep your bank account full AND help preserve our environment!

Looking for a luxurious hostel stay that offers privacy, security, and a great sleep? Look no further than CoDE.

But recently, CoDE was experiencing a problem with increasing energy bills. So we stepped in to install energy-saving monitors to identify potential savings without impacting the guest experience.

With just 10 sensors installed, we were able to identify which floors were using too much electricity, and quickly realized that the hot water tank was a huge energy drain, accounting for nearly 50% of daily electricity use.

We implemented smart solutions- upgrading the water tank's controller, turning off the return pump, and installing shower water restrictors- to make a significant difference.

We also tackled heating controls, upgrading the radiators to WiFi-enabled so that temperatures and schedules could be remotely controlled.

The result? A 30% reduction in electricity use from 2019 to 2022.

We're not stopping there - CoDE is now looking into solar thermal technology and double glazed windows for even more savings and a more eco-friendly future.

CoDE is leading the way in providing luxurious hostel stays with a focus on energy-saving technologies.

We are proud that our efforts to analyse, identify, and implement solutions have lead to a 30% reduction in electricity use from 2019 to 2022 – and we’re just getting started. From hot water tanks to heating controls, there’s always room for improvement when it comes to energy efficiency.

To continue providing the best possible service and stay to guests, CoDE is pushing beyond existing boundaries in sustainable practices. We invite you to experience this amazing transformation – why not set up a call with us today?
